Saudi Efforts to Protect the Quality of Zamzam Water and Address Climate Challenges

Khaberni - The Saudi Geological Survey has announced the implementation of advanced technical and regulatory programs to monitor the quality of Zamzam water, within the framework of its continuous efforts to maintain water safety and ensure its sustainability, in line with environmental and climatic changes and enhancing the efficiency of the monitoring system.

The Zamzam Studies and Research Center, affiliated with the authority, stated that these efforts include the implementation of comprehensive programs for monitoring both quantity and quality in the aquifer, allowing for precise monitoring of water conditions and its components, contributing to the continuous quality assurance according to the highest accepted standards.

 

Water Safety

The programs also include continuous monitoring of filtration and sterilization processes, and monitoring of treatment outputs to ensure their efficiency, thereby enhancing the safety of water provided to beneficiaries and maintaining the reliability of the supply system.

The authority, through its official account on the "X" platform, indicated that Zamzam water faces a number of challenges linked to climate changes and surrounding environmental conditions, which necessitates the development of more advanced regulatory tools and updating monitoring mechanisms to suit the nature of these changes.

The authority confirmed that it operates according to a sustainable strategy aimed at the continuous improvement of regulatory programs and policies related to water resource management, ensuring the maintenance of the quality and sustainability of Zamzam water, and preserving this blessed resource for future generations.
