Khaberni - The Majmaah University Astronomical Observatory in Houta Sudair, Saudi Arabia revealed the scientific conditions for observing the crescent of Ramadan for the year 1447 AH, indicating that the astronomical calculations for the observatory site show that the central conjunction will occur on Tuesday, 29 Sha'ban 1447 AH, corresponding to February 17, 2026, at 03:03 PM Riyadh time.
The observatory clarified in a statement about the visibility conditions that the sun will set in Mecca on the day of observation at 6:19 PM, while the crescent will set at 6:23 PM.
At the observatory's site in Houta Sudair, the sun will set at 5:52 PM, followed by the setting of the crescent at 5:54 PM.
The observatory confirmed, according to the computational data, that the crescent will set at the observation site two minutes after sunset, at an altitude of 0.5 degrees and an elongation of 1.61 degrees, pointing out that it will, God willing, observe the crescent on the evening of Tuesday, in anticipation of the holy month.
