Launch of the Apollo Go SelfDriving Taxi Service in Dubai

Khaberni -  Companies "Baidu" and "Uber Technologies", in cooperation with the Roads and Transport Authority in Dubai, announced the launch of the next phase of their global partnership by including 'Apollo Go' self-driving taxi vehicles on the 'Uber' platform in Dubai.

The service is scheduled to start next month in selected areas of Jumeirah, with plans to expand later based on operational results and regulatory approvals.

The project supports Dubai's strategy aimed at converting 25% of all mobility trips to self-driving trips by 2030.

Users within the service area will be able to choose 'Apollo Go' vehicles when booking through 'UberX' or 'Uber Comfort', or directly through the 'self-driving' option in the app.

The fleet is managed and operated by 'New Horizon' as a third party.

The announcement comes after previous expansions which included launching the service in London last December, and the opening of 'Apollo Go Park' in Dubai this past January, as the first external operations and services management center.
