Minister of Health 19000 Dialysis Sessions During the First Phase of the Digital Health Center

Khaberni - Minister of Health, Dr. Ibrahim Al-Badour, said on Monday that 19,000 dialysis sessions were conducted through the Digital Health Center during its first phase, in addition to monitoring about 900 patients under remote intensive care services, pointing out that the figures achieved in this initial launch phase of the digital health center's services were very encouraging and reflect the success of the experiment.

Dr. Al-Badour clarified during statements for the "Al-Mamlaka" channel, that the second phase of the digital health center services was launched today, as part of the efforts of the National Council for Future Technology, which was initiated by His Highness Crown Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II several months ago, noting that since the center's inception in July, a distinctive achievement encompassing several areas, most notably intensive care, radiology, kidney patients, inventory management, and bed management has been achieved.

He explained that the first phase included five main government hospitals, while the second phase added seven new hospitals, within the framework of integrating modern technology into medical service and improving its efficiency.

Dr. Al-Badour pointed out that diagnosing the reality of the hospitals revealed two main problems; the first in the central hospitals which suffer from overcrowding, and the second in peripheral hospitals which suffer from a low number of visitors as well as a lack of some rare medical specialties, confirming that technology was used as a practical solution to address these two problems.

Dr. Al-Badour noted that the first phase witnessed notable digital results over a period of 6 to 7 months, with 29,000 radiology reports issued, 12,000 MRI scans, 12,000 CT scans, and about 5,000 conventional X-ray images performed, and he highlighted that the waiting time for radiology reports, which previously extended to 10 days, has now been reduced to no more than 24 hours thanks to technology.

On Monday, the Ministries of Health and Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship announced the expansion of services at the Digital Health Center and its connection to 7 additional government hospitals, raising the number of hospitals that are provided with remote medical services to 12 hospitals and 3 health centers distributed across the various governorates of the kingdom.

The Minister of Health confirmed that this expansion is in line with the directives of His Highness Crown Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II, aiming to employ modern digital technologies in the health system, which contributes to improving the quality of healthcare services and alleviating the burden on both citizens and medical staff alike.
