Unusual Dust for This Time Affects Various Regions of Jordan

Khaberni - Satellite images and data from meteorological monitoring stations in various parts of the kingdom indicate an increase in dust levels in the air, with varying intensity from one region to another, coinciding with the appearance of medium and high clouds.

The kingdom's experience of these dusty conditions during the transitional period between the end of the forty-day period and the beginning of the fifty-day winter period is unusual and is attributed to the nature of the prevailing weather systems, characterized by the continuous influx of cold low-pressure systems towards the west of the Mediterranean and the Maghreb regions.

Winds circulate around the centers of low-pressure systems in the northern hemisphere counterclockwise, leading to the transport of dust with the winds from the Great African Desert, moving across the Mediterranean Sea to reach the Levant and eastern Mediterranean regions, which explains the noticeable increase in dust levels.

Forecasts indicate the continuation of dusty conditions tonight and tomorrow, Tuesday. It is advised that individuals with respiratory issues, allergies, and eye sensitivities be cautious, avoid direct exposure to dusty conditions as much as possible, and take necessary precautions due to the increased dust levels in the air.
