Khaberni - The International Organization for Migration stated on Monday that 53 migrants, including two infants, died or went missing after a rubber boat carrying 55 people capsized off Libya.
The organization said in a statement that "the vessel capsized north of Zuwara in Libya on February 6. Only two Nigerian women were rescued in a search and rescue operation conducted by the Libyan authorities," adding that one of the survivors said she lost her husband while the other said she "lost her two infants in the disaster."
