Khaberni- Hebrew media outlets reported a scandal touching the commander of the Haifa Police Station, Officer Eyal Shahar, in accusations indicating a prohibited relationship with a subordinate and an indecent act committed with another policewoman.
The newspaper pointed out that Officer Shahar underwent interrogation the day before yesterday (Wednesday) by the police personnel investigation unit, on suspicion of managing a prohibited relationship with a subordinate under his command, and also on suspicion of committing an indecent act against another policewoman.
Yedioth Ahronoth revealed that the investigation started about a month ago, following a report transferred to the department by police members. Upon finishing the investigation, the officer was released under restrictive conditions, including a 12-day ban from any police facility and no contact with police personnel at the station he was responsible for.
The police stated the following: "This is an investigation that is still in its early stages, and the relevant police authorities have been informed. The investigation materials will be reviewed, and we will act accordingly."
In another incident, the newspaper revealed that a 52-year-old policeman stabbed his daughter's former partner in the city of Netanya, amid a dispute that erupted between the two last Monday.
The former partner, a man in his thirties, sustained serious injuries from the stabbing, while the policeman received minor injuries from the knife he used. The policeman's three sons were also involved in the incident.
All involved were arrested, and authorities launched an investigation against the policeman, who was not on official duty at the time of the incident.
