Suspension of an Egyptian Singer for Two Months and a Fine of 50000 Pounds for Using Indecent Language

Khaberni - The Egyptian Musicians Syndicate has decided to suspend singer Dunia Al-Alfi from work for two months and fine her 50,000 pounds, following an incident involving the use of indecent and inappropriate language during a wedding party.

The decision came after a video was circulated on social media showing the singer uttering phrases that the syndicate considered offensive, which led to her being summoned to the general headquarters of the syndicate for an investigation in accordance with the instructions of the chief syndicate, Mustafa Kamel.

In the video, the singer appears angry, using obscene language towards someone, while those around her try to calm her down.

Dunia Al-Alfi underwent an investigation by the legal affairs and the work committee of the syndicate, and her statements were heard before the final decision to suspend and fine her was issued.

The singer presented a formal apology for the incident, emphasizing that what happened was beyond her control, stressing her full respect for the syndicate and its decisions, and her complete commitment to its instructions in the upcoming period.

The Musicians Syndicate affirmed its ongoing efforts to take the necessary actions to preserve artistic and ethical values, and not to tolerate any transgressions that harm the profession or public taste.
