Khaberni - On Monday, the House of Representatives begins discussing the decision of the Energy and Mineral Resources Committee, which includes the Gas Bill for 2025.
The parliamentary Energy and Mineral Resources Committee had endorsed, on January 20th, the Gas Bill for 2025.
The committee emphasized that the purpose of the bill is to regulate the natural gas sector and update the legislative framework governing it, in harmony with economic and technological changes, and contribute to enhancing energy supply security and achieving sustainability, in addition to attracting local and foreign investments into this vital sector.
Energy Minister Saleh Al-Kharabsheh had previously indicated that the bill came in response to an urgent need to develop regulations governing the gas sector, affirming the government's commitment to taking into account the observations and proposals of the House of Representatives, in a way that balances the requirements of investment and the protection of the national economy.
