Manchester City Turns the Table on Liverpool in an Exciting Match

Khaberni - Erling Haaland scored a penalty in stoppage time to give Manchester City an exciting 2-1 win over Liverpool in the Premier League on Sunday, narrowing their gap to leader Arsenal to six points.

After a goalless first half dominated by Manchester City, Liverpool opened the scoring in the 74th minute when Dominik Szoboszlai hit a perfect free kick from about 30 meters out, settling into the net.

However, City equalized 10 minutes later when Haaland headed the ball over the defense allowing Bernardo Silva to score from the edge of the six-yard box, before City was awarded a penalty in stoppage time when Alisson fouled Matheus Nunes.

Haaland stepped forward to score the goal and silence the Anfield crowd before Ryan Cherki scored from midfield in the last moments after Alisson came forward to intercept the ball amidst a struggle between Haaland and Szoboszlai.

The video assistant referee intervened and the goal was disallowed, but the referee sent off Szoboszlai for pulling Haaland's shirt, and awarded City a free kick which Cherki powerfully shot into the stands before the referee blew the final whistle.

With this victory, City raised their points to 50, sitting in second place behind leader Arsenal with 56 points, while Liverpool's points froze at 39, placing them sixth.
