Khaberni - The Ministry of Education stated on Sunday that the school hours for students in private schools during Ramadan are left to the school administration.
It explained that private schools have specific concerns related to bus tours, and determining school hours may cause students to be late for the first class due to traffic congestion or delay their return to their homes.
The ministry circulated to the directorates of education the official school hours for public schools, which will be effective from the beginning of the blessed month of Ramadan.
The ministry noted that the working hours of the directorates of education will start at 9:00 AM and end at 2:30 PM.
The first class in schools will start at exactly 9:00 AM, with the duration of a class period in single-session schools being 40 minutes, a break time of 10 minutes, and a cancellation of the 5-minute break between periods, ending the sixth period at exactly 1:10 PM, while the seventh period ends at exactly 1:50 PM, with the eighth period being canceled.
The ministry clarified that the schedule in two-session schools will begin at 9:00 AM for the morning session and at 12:50 PM for the afternoon session, with the class period duration in two-session schools being 35 minutes, a break time of 10 minutes, and the cancellation of the 5-minute break between periods, such that the sixth period for the afternoon session ends at exactly 4:30 PM.
