Wednesday or Thursday Astronomical Estimates Determine the First Days of Ramadan and Eid AlFitr

Khaberni - As millions of Muslims around the world await the month of Ramadan, with the countdown beginning, astronomical calculations have shown that the end of Sha'ban in the year 1447 AH will astrologically coincide with Wednesday, February 18th of the current year, thus making the first fasting day on Thursday (February 19).
Please note that the Hilal of Ramadan 2026 is scheduled to be sighted on the 29th of Sha'ban after sunset.
Number of Fasting Days in Ramadan

As for the number of fasting days, according to astronomical estimates, it will be a full 30 days, making Saturday, March 21, 2026, the first day of the blessed Eid Al-Fitr, when Muslims around the world celebrate the end of fasting after a month in an atmosphere of reverence and family connection.

Dr. Mohamed Ghareeb, a solar research professor at the National Institute of Astronomical and Geophysical Research, previously explained to Alarabiya.net/Alhadath.net that "astronomical calculations indicate that the month of Sha'ban is likely to last 30 days", noting that the first day of Ramadan astronomically is expected to fall on February 19. He added that precise astronomical studies confirm that the Hilal of Ramadan will be born before the sighting time, although the duration of the Hilal's presence after sunset on the day of sighting is a decisive factor in the possibility of its visibility.

Meanwhile, Dr. Khaled Al-Zaaq, a Saudi weather expert, revealed that data indicate that Wednesday, February 18, 2026, will be the beginning of the month of Ramadan, with the month completing thirty days, making Friday, March 20, 2026, the first day of Eid Al-Fitr.
