Ethics flow in business operations like the soul in the body, and the prophetic tradition has shown that regulating and monitoring markets is one of the most important reasons for business operations, and it is upon the ruler (the government) to place that at the top of their concerns. But unfortunately, we have started to notice, from now on, a rise in some prices of food items, most importantly meat derivatives and many types of vegetables, fruits, and legumes, and we are on the eve of the blessed month of Ramadan, the month of obedience, so what about when its crescent appears? Halah?!
Indeed, the phenomenon of rising prices before and during the holy month must be addressed by all authorities, as the suffering had been great over the past years and the phenomenon continues, so let us all fear Allah in the citizen, on all levels: officials, merchants, exporters, importers. I suggest to the respected government, from now on, to set the prices of Ramadan necessities under a defined ceiling, so that matters are regulated in a way that curbs the excesses of those who tamper with the sustenance of the fasting people, for the written is read from its cover (and the fever) of rising prices, its symptoms have started to appear since a few days, so what next?! .
And may Allah have mercy on the one who said:
Damn this monopolist... he does not heed, does not restrain
His actions are ominous.... in hidden struggling life
Oh Allah, let us reach Ramadan and make us among the repentant returners
