Khaberni - Media reports have uncovered exciting details about the financial aspects surrounding Kylian Mbappé's transfer to Real Madrid.
The French newspaper Onze Mondial reported that despite the widespread interest the deal attracted in the summer of 2024 within football circles, it wasn't just because of the substantial sum the French star is receiving, but also because of the influential role his mother Fayza Lamari played in this historic deal.
It was pointed out that Mbappé is the highest paid player at Real Madrid, earning about 31 million euros annually as total income, benefitting from his move to the royal club on a free transfer after his contract with Paris Saint-Germain ended, which gave him greater negotiating leverage to secure a financial deal that is among the largest in the club's history.
Interestingly, the free transfer deal not only affected Mbappé's income but also extended its benefits to his mother Fayza Lamari, who serves as his agent. Reports indicate that Fayza Lamari earns about 4.5 million euros annually for her role in managing her son’s contractual and marketing affairs, a significant figure that reflects the level of influence she now holds in one of the biggest deals in European football.
These figures reveal a striking disparity within Real Madrid, as Mbappé's mother's annual income exceeds the salaries of several first-team players. The list includes names like Raúl Asensio, Franco Mastantuono, Gonzalo Garcia, Andri Lunin, Fran Garcia, Arda Guler, and Ibrahim Diaz, highlighting the significant gap between the contracts of top stars and other team members.
The newspaper continued: "These data shed light on the significant transformations in the modern football market, where value is not limited to the player on the field only, but also extends to his administrative and familial environment, amidst the increasing roles of agents and their direct impact in shaping major deals within European clubs."
