General Index of Agricultural Producers Prices Rose by 38 Last Year

Khaberni - The Department of Statistics has tracked an increase in the general index of agricultural producers' prices by 3.8% for 2025, compared with 2024, and a decrease of 17.4% for December of the previous year in comparison to the same month of 2024, and a decrease of 22.5% compared with the previous month of the same year.

The cumulative index of agricultural producers' prices for 2025 amounted to 113.5 compared to 109.4 from the same period of 2024. The index of agricultural producers' prices in December 2025 was 89.4 compared to 108.3 for the same month of 2024, while the index for December 2025 was 89.4 compared to 115.5 for November of the same year.

Comparing the cumulative index of the past year with 2024, prices for several crops which constitute a relative significance of 30.6% rose, notably: bananas 21.7%, hot peppers 15.2% and green sweet peppers 10.5%.

The index saw a decline in prices for several crops which constitute a relative significance of 69.4%, prominently: potatoes by 39.5%, tomatoes by 26.7%, and colored sweet peppers by 22%.

The decrease in the index for agricultural producers' prices in December 2025 compared with the same month of 2024 is attributed to a decline in the index for several crops which constitute a relative significance of 62.5%; prominently tomatoes by 84.3%, white cabbage by 69.6%, and green corn by 57.5%.

In contrast, the index rose for several crops which constitute a relative significance of 37.5%, notably lemons by 166.5%, papayas 144.4%, and olives 111.8%.

Comparing the index for December 2025 with the index of the previous month, prices of a group of crops which constitute a relative significance of 73.9% declined, notably; fennel by 37.9%, strawberries by 37.5%, and kumquats by 37.1%.

Meanwhile, the index for prices of a group of crops which constitute a relative significance of 26.1% rose, notably zucchini by 86.7%, cucumbers 32.3%, and potatoes 21.3%.
