Petra University Records a Leap in Research Production Without Any Withdrawals According to the Global Retraction Watch Database

Khaberni - Petra University has registered a notable increase in the number of scientific papers published in the last two years, rising from 279 papers at the end of 2023 to 749 papers at the end of 2025, without any case of retraction for research issued by the university during this period, according to the Retraction Watch Database specialized in monitoring cases of scientific research retractions.
The president of Petra University, Professor Dr. Rami Abdel Rahim, emphasized that the university's research direction is based on a deep institutional belief that scientific honesty and research ethics are fundamental pillars in building scientific reputation and enhancing the university's academic presence regionally and internationally. He pointed out that this positive indicator reflects the university's success in establishing a comprehensive system for scientific integrity based on organization, governance, and oversight, ensuring a disciplined and integrated research environment, and stressed the university's continued support for researchers within a framework of strict adherence to international standards.
In his part, the Dean of Scientific Research and Graduate Studies at the university, Professor Dr. Faisal Abu Al-Rub, said that not recording any case of research withdrawal issued by the university during the past two years was the result of systematic institutional procedures adopted by the university, including activating instructions for scientific honesty and research ethics, and developing mechanisms for review and oversight to ensure adherence to ethical standards in all stages of scientific production.
The president of the university mentioned that the university's administration continues to update and enhance the integrity system to ensure the sustainability of research quality and maximize its impact locally and internationally, explaining that the university's council of deans has adopted policies for using artificial intelligence applications in academic work and scientific research, and a new disclosure model for the use of artificial intelligence in postgraduate studies has been introduced to ensure academic integrity and adherence to ethical standards in scientific research.
