College of Arts and Sciences at Arab Amman participates in the National Conference Youth Peace and Security

Khaberni - In its commitment to enhance its presence in national forums and to solidify its academic role in serving community issues, Arab Amman University participated in the strategic dialogues shaping the future of communal peace and security. Professor Farhan Al-Hasban from the College of Arts and Sciences took part in the National Conference on "Youth, Peace, and Security," organized by the Civil Peace Service Project and the German International Cooperation, in partnership with the Jordanian Ministry of Youth, sponsored by His Excellency Dr. Raed Al-Adwan, Minister of Youth, and attended by the Syrian Minister of Sports and Youth Mohammed Sameh Hamad, the German ambassador in Jordan, and the director of the German International Cooperation.

In this regard, Dr. Al-Adwan affirmed that Jordan, under its Hashemite leadership, has made youth empowerment a strategic choice, praising the role of His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II in conveying the voice of the youth to the world as active partners in conflict prevention and peacebuilding, and emphasized that this conference comes at a pivotal moment with the tenth anniversary of the adoption of UN Security Council Resolution 2250 on Youth, Peace, and Security, which redefined the role of youth internationally as active partners in conflict prevention and peacebuilding, rather than merely a group affected by them only.

The conference saw an active participation from Professor Al-Hasban who emphasized in his speech the importance of the academic role in enhancing peace, stating that "we must not forget the role of education in building peace among young men and women," considering education as the fundamental pillar that shapes the awareness of the youth and equips them with the cognitive tools necessary to reject violence and adopt dialogue as an alternative to conflict.
