Khaberni - On Sunday, the Ministry of Environment distributed 255 plastic waste containers with a capacity of 240 liters across several southern provinces, as part of supporting municipal efforts to reduce random waste disposal.
In a statement, the Ministry said that the distribution included the provinces of Tafilah, Maan, Karak, and the Petra region, to meet municipal needs and enhance cleanliness in urban and tourist areas, noting that the distribution process will continue in future stages to include additional areas according to needs.
The Ministry affirmed that the distribution of containers represents a comprehensive and sustainable national initiative, implemented within the executive program to curb random waste disposal. It aims to enhance environmental infrastructure in municipalities and tourist and archaeological sites, achieving environmental sustainability, preserving public health, and enhancing the aesthetics of cities.
It emphasized the importance of joint cooperation between official institutions and the local community to ensure the success of these initiatives, urging citizens to adhere to using designated containers and to actively contribute to maintaining a clean and healthy environment.
