Khaberni - The Ministry of Education reaffirmed the importance of the decision related to the basis for distributing eleventh grade students across the four fields in the academic track, which plays a pivotal role in enhancing the quality of the educational process, achieving the desired learning outcomes, and ensuring a balanced distribution of students in alignment with the inputs of general education and the requirements of higher education and the job market.
The ministry explained that these foundations are based on a clear educational philosophy aimed at giving greater importance to school education and school grades, and enhancing the culture of authentic learning focused on achieving educational goals and cognitive and skill outcomes, rather than merely “studying for the exam,” which positively reflects on building the student's personality and his comprehensive abilities.
The ministry clarified that student preferences are the primary criterion in the distribution process, which enhances the motivation of students and ensures their guidance to fields that match their inclinations and abilities, and contributes to achieving effective and appropriate learning outcomes for future job requirements.
The ministry added that the capacity of each field aims to achieve a harmonious and fair distribution of students, which prevents congestion in one field over another, and ensures that educational outcomes are aligned with the needs of higher education and the job market, noting that resorting to differentiation between averages only occurs in limited cases and according to clear controls, as current data indicates that the enrollment rates in some fields, such as the health field, have reached ratios close to the proposed ratios this academic year without the need for extensive differentiation.
The ministry also explained that academic achievement is used as a criterion for differentiation only when there is a significant increase in demand for a particular field, relying on the average percentage grade for the tenth and eleventh grades school-wise, in order to achieve equity and equal opportunities among students.
The ministry confirmed that this procedure is not new, as the same mechanisms were previously used in distributing students to the vocational and academic tracks and over the past decades in distributing students to the arts and science tracks and other educational branches such as information technology and the health branch, through the use of their percentage grades in the eighth, ninth, and tenth grades, in accordance with the educational bases adopted at that time.
Regarding the official document circulated, the ministry emphasized that it is directed towards the directorates of education and training as part of the preparation to implement the curriculum framework starting from the academic year 2026–2027, and that the decision is linked to the new educational plan, and has no direct impact on the students currently enrolled according to the existing bases.
