Khaberni - The Ministry of Health starts, on Sunday, implementing catheterization procedures for acute myocardial thrombosis in its hospitals, through 7 main centers covered to activate this general protocol, according to the Minister of Health Ibrahim Badour.
Badour explained to "Al-Mamlaka," that the ministry is working to increase the number of these centers during a future plan and connect these centers with peripheral centers in various provinces.
These centers are; Al-Basheer, Prince Hamza, New Al-Hussein Salt, Zarqa, Karak, Tafila, and Princess Basma hospitals in Irbid in addition to King Abdullah University Hospital.
The minister detailed that these equipped hospitals had been reinforced with technical staff on duty at all times; for performing emergency cardiac catheterizations around the clock, seven days a week.
He explained that the rest of the Ministry’s hospitals were linked to these equipped hospitals according to a specific mechanism that allows direct transfer of myocardial infarction cases for catheterization.
Badour emphasized the commitment to the medical treatment protocols that are approved and recognized based on clear principles and ensuring continuity of optimal medical care, where heart thrombosis cases in the covered hospitals are handled by cardiology specialists whether from the ministry’s staff or others according to these approved protocols.
This protocol is part of a plan devised by the Ministry of Health to enhance the quality of medical service with the aim of developing clear concepts and setting consistent treatment protocols for brain and cardiac thromboses, in addition to standardizing treatment protocols for all cancer patients in all medical sectors.
The importance of the cardiac thrombosis protocol lies in keeping pace with the latest globally accredited treatment methods; increasing life-saving opportunities; and reducing the incidence and complications, reflecting positively on the citizen's health and improving the quality and quality of life.
