Bezshkyan War is not in the interest of Iran America or the region

Khaberni - The Iranian President, Masoud Bezshkyan, emphasized on Saturday that a war with the United States would not benefit either party or the region, amid Donald Trump's threats of a military strike against Tehran.

Bezshkyan said during a call with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, "Iran will never seek and will not seek war under any circumstances, and is deeply convinced that war is not in the interest of Iran, the United States, or the region," according to the Iranian presidency.

"The need to avoid escalation"
For his part, the official spokesperson for the Egyptian presidency, Mohamed El-Shenawy, stated that the call addressed developments in the Iranian nuclear dossier, where El-Sisi expressed his country's deep concern "about the escalating tension in the region," emphasizing the need to avoid escalation and reject military solutions, further stating that "diplomatic solutions are the only and optimal path to resolving the crisis, ensuring the Middle East is spared further tension and instability."

El-Sisi also affirmed Egypt's continued efforts aimed at bringing the United States and Iran back to the negotiation table, leading to a peaceful and comprehensive resolution of the Iranian nuclear dossier, in a way that enhances regional and international stability, a matter which the Egyptian President highlighted to Trump during their recent bilateral meeting on the sidelines of Davos Forum.

In the same context, El-Sisi expressed Egypt's aspiration to encourage parties involved to value dialogue in order to overcome differences and reach a comprehensive settlement, emphasizing Cairo's support for all efforts made in this regard.

According to El-Shenawy, the Iranian President, for his part, expressed his profound gratitude and appreciation for the positive role played by Egypt in avoiding escalation and maintaining security and stability in the region, affirming his country's keenness on enhancing political consultation and coordination with Cairo to support regional stability.

"Iran is talking with us"
This comes as Trump, earlier Saturday, announced that Iran, which he threatens with a military strike, "is talking" to the United States. He told "Fox News" that Tehran "is talking to us, and we'll see if we can do something, otherwise we'll see what happens," reiterating that "we have a big fleet heading there." He also added: "They are negotiating."

Meanwhile, the Secretary-General of Iran's Supreme Council for National Security, Ali Larijani, revealed that efforts are underway to establish a framework for negotiations with the United States. He wrote on the "X" platform: "Contrary to the atmosphere caused by the manufactured media war, the structure of negotiations is underway," without offering further details.

On the other hand, American officials downplayed the likelihood of reaching a diplomatic resolution with Iran, according to "Axios" site.

The officials also added that "the Iranians have not shown a real willingness to accept the American terms for reaching an agreement."

It should be noted that in recent weeks, the American President has escalated threats of striking Iran, as Washington has bolstered its military deployment in the Middle East, sending the USS Abraham Lincoln to the region.

Meanwhile, Tehran has also raised the level of its warnings, threatening an immediate and strong response to any American strike against it.
