Restructuring Souls
Author: مجدي محمد محيلان

The Almighty said: - ﴿Indeed, Allah does not change what is in a people until they change what is in themselves﴾ Surat Ar-Ra'd, verse 11
The psychological restructuring of Islam revolves around the duality of human nature (vice and piety), where the personality consists of: the soul, the heart, the mind, and aims to achieve balance between the demands of the spirit and the body, and this restructuring relies on the purification of the soul: the commanding, the blaming, the peaceful, to achieve mental health and tranquility through faith and harmony between the internal and the external.
I understand from the text of the verse that the soul needs restructuring from time to time to rid itself of the impurities that affect it for one reason or another, as the restructuring of the soul begins with the individual himself by purifying the heart of its dross and impurities. Humans are born pure on the fitra, without envy, hate, or lies... The Almighty said: - ﴿Out of envy from themselves﴾ Surat Al-Baqarah, verse 109
And He did not say envy from themselves because the soul is born pure and white, but its owner either purifies it or corrupts it! .
In my opinion, the restructuring of the soul depends on two main things: the heart, and the mind. As for the heart, with the availability of a sincere intention aspiring for change for the better and getting rid of its diseases, and its treatment by returning to the sound fitra and staying away from what is concocted in the chest and feared that others might see.
And as for the mind, by engaging in thought in the tools through which the individual can elevate himself, and I find no better treatment for this problem than the Holy Quran. It is a complete constitution of life that treats, purifies, develops, activates, and polishes the soul through contemplation and reflection on its great verses. The Almighty said: ﴿...and they contemplate the creation of the heavens and the earth...﴾ Surah Aal-E-Imran, verse 191.
And may God have mercy on who said:
The soul is like a wild horse
And its mind like a bridle
