Our Water Ain AlBasha Water Project an Integrated Model for Reducing Losses

Khaberni - The CEO of Our Water company, Mohammad Khirabshah, said on Tuesday that the Ain Al-Basha water system project is part of a series of projects being currently implemented by the Ministry of Water and Irrigation and Our Water company in various areas within Our Water company's jurisdiction.

Khirabshah explained that the project focused on a high-priority area which is one of the most densely populated areas in Balqa Governorate, noting that most of the water networks in this area are very old and dilapidated, which is the main reason for the high level of water loss in it, according to the kingdom

He pointed out that the project is an integrated model, as it includes the construction of a transmission line from the supplying source, a collection tank for water storage, in addition to distribution networks of various diameters to deliver water to subscribers, as well as replacing part of the subscriber meters.

Khirabshah also mentioned that the project focused on restructuring, rehabilitating, and isolating high-priority areas, alongside introducing the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition system (SCADA), which contributes to enhancing the monitoring and control capabilities and improving the operational performance of water supply and operation systems.

He added that the cost of the project amounted to more than 11 million dinars, and that it would help reduce water loss and improve the reliability of water supply, noting that the project's implementation period lasted three years.

Khirabshah clarified that the Ain Al-Basha water system project focuses on addressing the challenges arising from aging infrastructure and high rupture rates due to high pressures, which led to a rise in water loss to 77%, negatively affecting Our Water company's ability to provide regular and reliable water to the residents of the area.
