Khaberni - Egyptian artist Sherine Abdel Wahab posted a video clip excerpt from her song "The one who meets my beloved" on her official Instagram account, making a comeback to social media interaction after a long absence.
Many fans interacted with the clip, as comments flooded in carrying messages of support and solidarity, including: "Thank God for your safety, come back stronger than before, we missed you", clearly expressing the sympathy of her audience and their concern for her situation.
Fake video
In related news, a widely circulated video caused significant controversy over the past few days, after being wrongly attributed to Sherine Abdel Wahab, showing her wearing a medical gown and lying in a hospital bed crying, leading to speculation about her health condition.
The story began after a post by Egyptian journalist Salma El Daly, in which she expressed her indignation at what she described as a blatant violation of patient privacy, questioning who was behind the leaking of content from inside a medical facility, which led some followers to believe the video was real.
However, verification of the clip showed that it was fake, produced using artificial intelligence technology, with precise visual editing to make it look like a real recording, in one of the latest cases of digital forgery that involves public figures.
New Triumph
On the artistic front, Sherine Abdel Wahab achieved a new feat by winning the award for Best Singer in North Africa at the ninth edition of the African Music Awards "AFRIMA" for 2025.
Sherine's victory came after strong competition from several of the region's leading female voices, including Jannat, Sherine Lajmi, Inez, Manal, Gilan, Mariam Abu Laffa, and Zeina Daoudia, before the Egyptian artist ultimately claimed the title.
The win comes at a time when media speculation about Sherine's health condition is increasing, following news that she has moved to the home of a well-known artist, a step described as aiming to provide better psychological support and care during this phase.
