I was at my worst Khaled El Sawy reveals details of his psychological crisis

Khaberni -  Egyptian artist Khaled El Sawy unveiled a series of daring confessions revealing the other side of his stardom journey.

Away from the camera lights, El Sawy spoke with "rare courage" about his moments of human weakness, declaring his victory over a gloomy period that almost ended his passion for life and pushed him toward surrender.

During his talk on the radio program "To Whom It May Concern," Khaled El Sawy revealed undergoing a gloomy period last year, during which he questioned the timing of his departure due to his intense loss of will to live.

El Sawy said: "I was at my worst health and mental state, and I had no goal to live for. What increased my frustration were the social media users’ reactions to my appearance, but I decided to stand by myself and correct the course."

El Sawy confessed that arrogance was the foremost enemy of his personal and professional journey from an early age, noting that his fifties were a mix of overwhelming success and painful failures, where he found the love of his life and married, achieved financial success and major awards, as well as wasted health, time, and opportunities due to extravagance and vanity.

El Sawy also affirmed that he learned to do without pleasures and face the truth with himself, emphasizing that his relationship with God underwent a significant transformation recently, out of his desire to maintain the spiritual connection.

Return with Ahmed Helmy

On the artistic front, El Sawy announced his return to collaborate with artist Ahmed Helmy in a new cinematic film named Hadduta, expressing his eagerness to work with him again, and his desire to repeat his experiences with artists Karim Abdel Aziz, Ahmed El Sakka, and Tamer Hosny.

In conclusion, El Sawy talked about his experience in the series "Children of the Shepherd" which he participated in during the Ramadan season 2026, considering the work as representing a new phase of commitment and striving to overcome his previous crises and return strongly to his audience.
