Khaberni - The Jordanian lawyer, Mohammad Al-Subaihi, has called for the reintroduction of the execution penalty in Al-Husseini Mosque Square in the downtown area of Amman.
He asserted in his article that the death penalty is the strongest deterrent against hardened criminals, especially drug dealers, and that there is no other way to deter them, stating that advice and guidance measures have failed.
Following is the article by the Jordanian lawyer Mohammad Al-Subaihi:
Al-Husseini Mosque Square in downtown should witness the deterrent execution penalty against hardened criminals, particularly drug dealers, and no other means exists to deter them since awareness programs and guidance have failed.
Recently, the legal community has been deeply shocked following the death of a young lawyer by a young man who fell victim to drug dealers and promoters.
What now??
The drug law prescribes the death penalty for drug dealers, yet we see no gallows erected nor execution judgments carried out.
Gentlemen, we are incapable of executing (killing) a dog that attacked a girl and tore her body apart, and another dog attacked a child whose treatment was delayed, leading to his death? Why?? We do not carry out death sentences issued by the courts for serious and heinous crimes, and yet the criminals are still comfortable, eating and drinking at our expense!! Why?? Because we fear animal welfare societies and externally supported human rights associations!! Associations that violate state sovereignty by interfering in our laws and inciting against us if we execute those criminals.
Three years ago, the anti-drug force arrested individuals who had set up a factory to produce drug pills in a building's basement in Amman and judgments were issued against them, yet they still enjoy delicious meals in prison, which the innocent poor who scavenge for food from garbage bins cannot afford, while organizations and associations praise the quality of prison food.
A wave of demands for activating the death penalty and publicizing it in public squares is now igniting to face the flood of drug smuggling attempts into the country. Are you for the death penalty and for carrying out execution sentences publicly, or against all of this??
