Doctor reveals the biggest mistake people make when choosing a diet

Khaberni -  US data indicates that about 17% of those trying to lose weight follow a keto diet, a vegetarian diet, or the Mediterranean diet.

But with such a vast array of different diets and conflicting advice available, it can be difficult to determine the optimal diet.

Dr. Mark Hyman says: "There is no one diet that fits all".

According to "Fox News", Hyman explains: "The truth is that the best diet is the one that suits your body’s nature. We are all different, and there is no one diet that fits all".

Hyman believes that the essence of any healthy diet lies in distinguishing between real food and what he calls "food-like substances".

He adds: "Food is what supports the health, growth, and development of an organism".
The American Model

Honestly, what most people consume in America today is not food in the true sense, but rather a nutritional substance, as Hyman says about the American model.

Hyman points out that minimally processed foods - those that can be recognized and are close to their original form - fundamentally differ from ultra-processed products designed for ease of use and extended shelf life.
Food as Medicine

Hyman proceeds from the concept of food as medicine, pointing out the thousands of biologically active compounds in plants that affect inflammation, detoxification, and disease risk.

Hyman adds: "Everything you put into your body acts as medicine, either benefiting you or harming you", noting that each meal affects body functions.

He explains that one of the factors determining the body's response to food is regulating blood sugar levels.

He warns that diets high in refined carbohydrates and sugars may disrupt metabolic health in ways that affect the entire body.
Blood Sugar Metric

If the blood sugar level is not balanced, i.e., if it is high or if there is an increase in insulin, it will disrupt the metabolic process of blood sugar.

Hyman links poor control of calorie-burning processes to diabetes and heart diseases, and also to mental health disorders.
