Khaberni - According to a new study published in "The Lancet" medical journal, combined changes in sleep, exercise, and diet can significantly prolong life and add years of good health.
The changes identified by the Australian research team are:
1. An additional 5 minutes of sleep daily.
2. Two additional minutes of moderate physical activity daily, added to an exercise program or general activity.
3. A slight improvement in diet quality, or an increase of 5 points in the dietary quality index.
According to "Fox News," the research team from the University of Sydney reached these conclusions by analyzing data from 59,000 individuals from the UK Biobank.
An additional half portion of vegetables.
The participants' sleep patterns and physical activity were measured using wearable devices, and their diet was evaluated through a questionnaire.
The researchers indicated that this dietary improvement could include an additional half portion of vegetables, or one and a half portions of whole grains daily.
The total improvements amounted to an additional 24 minutes of sleep daily, 3.7 extra minutes of exercise, and an increase of 23 points in dietary quality, correlated with an increase in the average life expectancy by approximately 4 years.
According to the results, it was proven that modifying all three behaviors together achieves the greatest benefit, contributing to an increase in average life expectancy by about 9 years.
