Khaberni - The 56th annual high-level economic forum meeting in Davos, Switzerland, wraps up its third day. Representing His Majesty King Abdullah II, His Highness Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II, the Crown Prince, took part and carried the motto "Spirit of Dialogue." His Highness held numerous meetings with forum participants, focusing on Jordan and its development and humanitarian issues worldwide.
Nine issues were addressed by His Highness the Crown Prince in his meetings during the Davos World Forum. These include enhancing Jordanian collaboration with global companies, aviation services, employing modern technological solutions, exchanging expertise with Jordan in future technology fields, continuing support for sustaining services to refugees, exploring new cooperation opportunities and exchanging expertise with Jordanian youth, developing the digital skills of Jordanians, showcasing Jordan’s investment attractions such as its technical infrastructure services, training programs supporting youth, equipping them with necessary technical and technological skills, expanding cooperation to implement several investment projects in Jordan, and reaffirming the strength of Jordan's diplomatic relations led by His Majesty the King with all countries.
The forum, which lasted for five days starting from Monday and ending on Friday, January 23, 2026, aimed to discuss global economic challenges, including the future of the global economy amid slowing growth and rising debts, geopolitical tensions, energy security, artificial intelligence and technology and their impact on the labor market, climate change, and sustainable financing.
His Highness the Crown Prince met with Nadia Calviño, President of the European Investment Bank, discussing ways to expand cooperation to implement multiple projects in the Kingdom, appreciating the bank’s support for Jordan in implementing vital projects, especially the desalination and water transport project from Aqaba to Amman (the National Water Carrier Project).
His Highness held separate meetings with CEOs, founders, and representatives of global companies, discussing ways to open new horizons for cooperation and exchange of expertise, which enhances economic and investment growth, and contributes to the development of digital skills for Jordanians, showcasing Jordan’s investment attractions, such as technical infrastructure services, and training programs that support youth and equip them with necessary technical and technological skills for the labor market.
His Highness met the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, Barham Salih, congratulating him on his election victory at the end of last year, wishing him success in his term, and discussed ways to enhance cooperation between Jordan and the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, which supports the continued provision of services to refugees.
It was emphasized that the international community must take responsibility towards the host countries of refugees, enabling them to continue providing services to them. His Highness then met His Majesty King Philippe, the King of Belgium, conveyed His Majesty King Abdullah II's greetings to King Philippe, wished him good health and well-being, underscored the strong relations between the two friendly countries, and expressed eagerness to expand them in various sectors, especially the economic ones. They also discussed current developments in the region, and the importance of maintaining coordination and consultation on various issues of mutual interest, serving the interests of both countries.
His Highness met the Austrian Chancellor Dr. Christian Stöcker, expressing pride in the deep relations between Jordan and Austria, the importance of building on them in various sectors, and reviewed the efforts of the National Council for Future Technology and vocational and technical education and training programs. He emphasized the importance of exchanging expertise between the two countries in areas of common interest, and discussed prominent developments in the region, stressing the importance of supporting efforts to achieve peace and stability in the region.
His Highness held a meeting with the executive director of the Brazilian aircraft manufacturer "Embraer," Francisco Gómez Neto, discussing opportunities to enhance cooperation between Jordan and the company in aircraft maintenance, aviation services, and the use of modern technological solutions.
His Highness engaged in a series of meetings with founders and CEOs of several global companies, discussing ways to expand cooperation and exchange of expertise, which enhances digital skills and prepares Jordanian youth for the job market, and met the Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto, affirming the strong relations between the two friendly countries.
His Highness focused on discussions with Odile Renaud-Basso, President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, on ways to expand the partnership between the two sides, appreciating the bank's efforts in supporting developmental projects in Jordan, highlighting the importance of expanding the partnership between the bank and the private sector.
His Highness held a meeting with Masrour Barzani, Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government of Iraq, on the sidelines of the forum activities, discussing the close relations between Jordan and Iraq, and ways to enhance cooperation between the Kingdom and the Kurdistan region in various fields.
His Highness met the Prime Minister of Lebanon, Dr. Nawaf Salam, affirming the long-standing relations between the two countries. His Highness conveyed His Majesty King Abdullah II's greetings to the President of Lebanon, General Joseph Aoun, affirming Jordan's support for Lebanon's efforts to enhance its security and stability, and the meeting touched on the meetings of the High Joint Committee that started earlier this year, which aims to solidify joint work in vital sectors.
Dr. Mohammad Khair Ayyadat, Dean of the Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II College at the University of Jordan, stated that His Highness's participation in the 56th World Economic Forum conveyed many important messages representing Jordan, its political stance, economic growth, unique investment environment, and stability.
He added, His Highness held several meetings focused on Jordan's political positions, relations with all countries, and meetings with companies specialized in technology and digitalization, presenting investment opportunities for Jordanian youth.
He noted that His Highness's meetings with the heads of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development confirmed the opening of investment opportunities and the expansion of projects implemented by the bank in Jordan, which will continue in the future, keeping Jordan in a state of constant development and growth.
Artificial intelligence and technology were a central focus in all of His Highness's meetings, involving leaders of companies operating in this field. These issues and investment opportunities are crucial for the future of youth, showing a clear understanding and desire to utilize this investment optimally, indicating His Highness's commitment to safeguarding the future of Jordanian youth.
His participation in the forum, in addition to the importance of the meetings and the topics they carried at the political, economic, and investment levels, represented Jordanian youth in this global forum through the leadership, logic, and diplomacy conveyed by Jordan to the world.
Dr. Samer Eid Dahiyat, Dean of the School of Business Administration at the University of Jordan, said that the Jordanian state's approach is aware in formulating policies, initiatives, and developing strategies capable of achieving renaissance and comprehensive transformation politically, economically, socially, scientifically, and technologically. Thus, their involvement in the Davos forum is the result of well-considered planning aimed at building and utilizing investment opportunities and attracting global capital to contribute to the economic and social renaissance.
He emphasized that His Highness's participation in the 56th forum was extremely important through meetings with investors and global economic decision-makers, attracting them to Jordan's technological and technological priorities. This connection leads to attracting opportunities for youth in sectors like artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, and future technology.
He confirmed that participating in the Davos Forum is a practical opportunity to establish strategic partnerships and alliances that attract foreign direct investment and capital supporting entrepreneurial projects, and support Jordan's move towards presenting or bringing in global entities involved in future technology to enhance the national economy's position until the concept of comprehensive economic and social security is achieved.
