Khaberni - The Minister of Local Administration, Walid El-Masry, emphasized the importance of the municipalities being prepared for the summer season, the necessity of removing weeds from the central islands and sides of roads, and dealing with the hotspots that appeared during the recent weather lows, ensuring they do not recur in the future.
This came during two separate meetings he held on Saturday; the first included chairpersons of the municipal councils of Balqa Governorate and the President of the Governorate Council in the building of the Greater Salt Municipality, while in the second meeting he met with the chairpersons of the municipal councils of Zarqa Governorate and the President of the Governorate Council in the building of Zarqa Municipality, to discuss the service and development reality in the two governorates.
El-Masry stressed the necessity of increasing municipal revenues, rationalizing expenses, and directing them towards improving the services provided to the citizens.
He also emphasized the importance of addressing the observations detected by "the mystery shopper" during his field visits, which contributes to enhancing performance efficiency and overcoming administrative obstacles.
He also directed the municipalities to activate the "JONEPS" government e-procurement system, to enhance transparency and fairness in bidding and awarding contracts, in line with the plans for digital transformation and the development of institutional work in the local administration sector.
