Opening the Street in the Deep Pit Area under Madaba Building

Khaberni - The Governor of Madaba, Hassan Al-Jabour, decided on Thursday evening to open the street in front of the building where a deep pit filled with sewage was discovered, following the recommendation of the technical committees.

The Governor said that the decision to open came after Madaba Greater Municipality conducted technical inspections of the street and sidewalks adjacent to the building by a specialized company, and it was confirmed that there were no gaps in the street and sidewalks. Following this, the specialized committee within the Royal Scientific Society recommended that there is no danger in using the street.

He added that the decision to evacuate the building will continue until the completion of the technical examinations around it and the results of the samples appear.

The street and the building had been closed two days earlier after a pit was discovered underneath one of the buildings near the Civil Status Directorate building, believed to be due to an ancient cave, to protect the lives of the residents and due to the extension of the pit under the building and the street.
