The Parliamentary Foreign Affairs Committee Discusses Enhancing Bilateral Relations with the Bulgarian Ambassador

Khaberni - The Parliamentary Foreign Affairs Committee, chaired by MP Haitham Ziyadin, discussed during its Wednesday meeting with the Bulgarian Ambassador to the Kingdom, Metin Kazak, in the presence of the Minister Plenipotentiary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Tamara Al-Raqad, the overall bilateral relations between the two countries, and ways to develop them in various fields.

Ziyadin affirmed the strength and depth of the Jordanian-Bulgarian relations, based on mutual respect and shared interests, noting that Jordan views Bulgaria as an important partner within the European Union, and an effective gateway to enhance joint cooperation, especially in the fields of trade, investment, transportation, and tourism.

He emphasized the importance of activating parliamentary diplomacy and enhancing the role of friendship committees in both countries, which contributes to expanding the horizons of cooperation and supporting Jordanian positions in international fora, appreciating the Bulgarian supportive stances towards the two-state solution.

Ziyadin also touched on the developments in the region, foremost among them the Palestinian issue, affirming that the Jordanian position, led by His Majesty King Abdullah II, is based on firm principles that call for reaching a just and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian issue in accordance with international legitimacy resolutions.

In turn, committee members MPs: Ali Al-Ghazawi, Huda Naffa, Dima Tahboub, Dina Al-Bashir, and Osman Al-Makhadmeh stressed the importance of enhancing parliamentary, economic, and trade cooperation, and benefiting from Jordan's strategic location as a gateway to regional markets, in addition to developing tourist exchange and opening new horizons for cooperation in the fields of education, culture, and energy.

For his part, the Bulgarian ambassador expressed his country's pride in the level of relations with Jordan, emphasizing his country's keenness to expand the areas of bilateral cooperation, and continue political coordination and consultation regarding regional and international issues of common interest, appreciating the pivotal role played by Jordan, under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II, in enhancing security and stability in the region.
