Important meeting for the Labor Parliamentary to discuss amendments to the Social Security Law

Khaberni - The Parliamentary Labor, Social Development, and Population Committee will discuss on Tuesday, a proposed amendment to the Social Security Law for the year 2026.

On Monday, the committee launched a platform to receive opinions from citizens, experts, and various activists regarding the amended Social Security Law project.

The committee's chair, Andre Hawari, clarified that the electronic platform is designated to receive the opinions, comments, and suggestions of participants and all related entities and experts, contributing to enriching the debate on the draft law and achieving the best possible legislative formulations.

For his part, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mazen Al-Qadi, called on the head and members of the parliamentary labor committee to ensure the highest degrees of accuracy and objectivity in discussing the draft Social Security law and to open up to all opinions and perspectives. He stressed that the committee should keep the nation’s and citizens' interest in mind, affirming that the council will always stand by what serves the nation and preserves the interests of the citizens.

Al-Qadi emphasized that the House of Representatives faces a sensitive and pivotal law that touches the nerve of Jordanian society and relates to community security, prompting the need for extensive and in-depth dialogue that leads to balanced results that consider the interests of different parties involved, preserving the rights of participants and ensuring the sustainability of the Social Security institution.

He pointed out that the council today faces a major national responsibility that necessitates performing its legislative duties with seriousness and responsibility, carefully studying the draft law, being objective, and making the necessary adjustments when needed.
