Sexual Crime Shakes Lebanon with Calls for the Accuseds Execution

Khaberni - The Lebanese authorities announced on Tuesday the arrest of a father who sexually assaulted his minor daughter, a crime that shocked public opinion and provoked angry reactions.
Regarding the details of this crime, the Public Relations Department of the Lebanese Internal Security Forces issued a statement saying: "As part of the daily monitoring carried out by the Internal Security Forces to combat various types of crimes, especially those related to harassment, sexual assaults, and breaches of public morals, and to pursue and arrest their perpetrators, information was available on January 9, 2026, from the Information Division about an individual in a town within the jurisdiction of Tyre committing sexual assault on his minor daughter."

The statement added that "on the same date, a patrol from the division headed to the town and managed to arrest the suspect, who was found to be 'H. B.' (born 1979, Lebanese)," noting that "his mobile phone was confiscated, and upon investigation, he confessed to the allegations."

The security forces mentioned in their statement that "upon hearing the testimony of the minor girl, she stated that her father had sexually assaulted her while taking advantage of her mother's absence from the home, and also threatened to kill her if she disclosed his act."

The necessary legal actions were taken against the detained, and he, along with the seized mobile phone, were handed over to the concerned unit, based on the directives of the competent judiciary.

This crime provoked angry reactions on social media, where many called for the execution of the accused, while some considered that "the absence of accountability, absence of religious restraint, and moral deterrent" lead to such crimes.
