Khaberni - French President Emmanuel Macron proposed in a "special message" to his American counterpart, Donald Trump, to hold a G7 summit in Paris on Thursday, inviting the Russians "on the sidelines" of the meeting, in an unprecedented move since the start of the Russian war with Ukraine four years ago.
Trump published this message on his "Truth Social" network account, and sources close to Macron confirmed on Tuesday that it is "completely genuine".
Macron also proposed in the message to invite Ukraine to this meeting, as well as Denmark to discuss the disagreements about Greenland, in addition to Syria.
The French President wrote in his letter "My friend, we are completely aligned on Syria. We can achieve great things in Iran. I do not understand what you are doing in Greenland".
Macron added "I can organize a G7 meeting in Paris on Thursday afternoon following (the summit) in Davos" in Switzerland where Trump speaks on Wednesday.
He continued, "I can invite the Ukrainians, the Danes, the Syrians, and the Russians to a side event" on the margin of the meeting.
The French President, who signed his letter with "Emmanuel", said: "Let us have dinner together in Paris on Thursday before your return to the United States".
According to his associates, this letter shows "that the French President defends the same stance in public and in private".
The same source explained, "In Greenland, respecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of states is non-negotiable, and our commitment as a NATO ally to the security of the Arctic region is firm and unchanging".
The source added, "We are also determined to make our presidency of the G7 this year a fruitful moment to contribute to dialogue and cooperation".
He continued, "In Syria, we are working side by side with the Americans for the unity and territorial integrity of Syria and respect for the ceasefire, while remaining loyal to our allies in the war against ISIS (Islamic State)".
He said, "In Iran, we demand the Iranian authorities to respect basic freedoms, and we stand alongside those who defend them".
