Khaberni - President Donald Trump threatened on Monday to impose a 200% customs tariff on French wine and champagne in response to his counterpart Emmanuel Macron's refusal to join the "Peace Council" he is working to establish.
Speaking to reporters in Florida, he said, "I will impose a 200% customs tariff on wine and champagne (exported from France). He will agree to join, but he is not obliged to agree."
Close associates of French President Emmanuel Macron said on Monday that France "does not commit to fulfilling" the invitation to join the "Peace Council" at this stage.
