Israel Raises Army Readiness Level and Calls Up Reserve Forces

Khaberni  - The Hebrew newspaper Yisrael Hayom reported that the Israeli military’s preparations for a potential confrontation with Iran are still ongoing, amid escalating regional tensions and the possibility of situation developments due to an American attack on Tehran.

The newspaper clarified in an article published on Monday that these preparations include calling up reserve forces and deploying defensive systems, noting that there has been no change yet in the instructions of the Home Front Command.

Yisrael Hayom added that in the security establishment, especially in the Israeli Air Force, work is being done around the clock to enhance defensive capabilities and to prepare for response options in the event Iran launches missiles towards Israel.

The newspaper quoted security sources saying that Israel is becoming more prepared day by day for intercepting missiles, due to the mobilization of reserves and improved distribution of air defense systems, along with other measures that cannot be disclosed.

Preparation for a Sudden War

Nevertheless, the newspaper pointed out that it is still unknown whether American President Donald Trump will eventually choose to attack Iran or not.

In the same context, the Israeli Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir said that the Israeli military, alongside defensive preparations, maintains extensive offensive capabilities.

The Channel 12 Israeli news quoted Zamir saying during his visit to the Home Front Command, “The Israeli military is prepared to activate unprecedented offensive capabilities against any attempt to harm the State of Israel."

The Chief of Staff also noted that the lessons learned from the operation carried out in June have been absorbed, and that the military is also preparing for the possibility of a sudden outbreak of war.

The ongoing preparations — according to Israeli estimates — follow the escalation of concerns within the security leadership in recent months regarding the development of the Iranian missile program, and the possibility of Tehran returning to its nuclear program, issues that were raised during a meeting between Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and President Trump weeks ago.

Israel estimates that the state of tension could continue from several days to a few weeks, as the deployment of American forces in the region is completed, and all scenarios remain on the table, including attack or diplomatic containment.

Israel had launched a war on Iran on June 13, which lasted 12 days, targeting nuclear facilities, military and civilian sites, and assassinating senior military leaders, including the commander of the Revolutionary Guard and the chief of staff, along with prominent nuclear scientists. Iran responded with a series of missile attacks that caused unprecedented destruction in several Israeli cities.
