Real Sociedad Surprises Barcelona with a 21 Victory Ending the Leaders Winning Streak

Khaberni - Real Sociedad achieved an exciting win with a score of 2-1 at home against Barcelona, leader of the Spanish First Division football league, on Sunday, thereby ending the Catalan team's winning streak which lasted 11 matches in all competitions.

The thrilling match, held in rain-drenched San Sebastián, saw Real Sociedad withstand continuous pressure as Barcelona's shots hit the crossbar five times in the second half.

Mikel Oyarzabal opened the scoring with a direct shot in the 32nd minute, but Barcelona equalized with a close-range header from Marcus Rashford in the 70th minute.

However, just one minute later, Goncalo Guedes secured the victory for the home team with another shot inside the penalty area.

The number of Real Sociedad players was reduced to 10 in the final minutes after Carlos Soler received a direct red card for his reckless challenge on Pedri.

Despite the defeat, Barcelona, led by Hansi Flick, remains at the top of the standings with 49 points, one point ahead of second-placed Real Madrid.

Villarreal and Atlético Madrid lag far behind, with each team having 41 points.
