Turki Al Sheikh Announces the Largest Prize in the History of Darts

Khaberni  - The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Entertainment Authority (GEA), Advisor Turki Al Sheikh, announced the allocation of the largest prize in the history of darts for a 9-dart finish, during the Saudi Masters Darts Championship 2026, which is held as part of the Riyadh Season events. The prize will amount to $200,000 if the perfect throw is achieved during the championship.

The championship will take place from January 19 to 20 at the Global Theater in Boulevard City, with the participation of some of the world’s top players, in matches that feature 8 players from the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) and 8 of Asia’s top players, through competitions that are broadcast worldwide and witness fierce competition for the championship titles.

The player who succeeds in scoring a 9-dart finish during the Saudi Masters Darts competitions will receive a prize of $100,000, with a chance to double the prize to $200,000 through the Riyadh Season Bullseye Challenge, where the player is given one dart to aim at the bullseye, in a prize considered the largest of its kind in the history of the PDC association.

The tournament features the current world champion Luke Littler, who previously scored a perfect throw in the World Championships series in Bahrain 2024, alongside the 2023–2024 World Champion Luke Humphries, World Championship runner-up Gian Van Veen, three-time World Champion Michael van Gerwen, former World Champion Gerwyn Price, the seventh-ranked player globally Stephen Bunting, former UK Open Champion Danny Noppert, and the 2023 World Matchplay Champion Nathan Aspinall.

On the Asian side, Singaporean darts legend Paul Lim participates, known for the first famous 9-dart finish in the history of the sport in 1990, alongside the Filipino trio Alexis Tuailo, Lawrence Ilagan, and Paulo Nebrida, and Japanese stars Motomo Sakai, Ryusei Azimoto, and Tomoya Goto, as well as Hong Kong player Man Luk Leung.

The 2026 Saudi Masters Darts Championship reflects the expansion of the Riyadh Season in hosting major international sports tournaments and offering unique experiences that enhance Riyadh’s status as a leading international sports and entertainment destination.
