Bad habit that affects digestion

Khaberni - Nutrition expert Dr. Yelena Syvorakshina indicates that eating meals at widely spaced intervals is more harmful to health than consuming light snacks frequently and regularly.
The expert explains that long periods between meals strain the digestive system, lead to bile stagnation, and over time, negatively impact the functions of internal organs and slow down the metabolic process.

She says: "If a person eats only one meal a day, bile accumulates in the body because it is secreted with every meal or drink. This disrupts the digestion process and reduces metabolic efficiency. Therefore, it is preferable to eat three times a day, even in small quantities, and even two meals a day are better than one large meal."

According to Syvorakshina, the timing of the last meal does not depend on the clock as much as it depends on the daily lifestyle. For example, if dinner is at 8 PM and bedtime is at midnight, then that is perfectly acceptable. She emphasizes the importance of leaving a time interval of no less than three to four hours between the last meal and bedtime, and the necessity to avoid late-night eating, especially if there is no physical or mental activity after dinner.
