Khaberni - The White House announced on Thursday that the deployment of European troops in Greenland has no impact on American President Donald Trump's plans to take control of the Arctic island belonging to Denmark.
White House spokeswoman Carolin Levitt stated in a press conference, "I don't think that the deployment of troops in Europe affects the President's decision-making process, nor does it impact his objective to annex Greenland at all."
European Union Defense Commissioner Andreas Kobelius said on Monday that a forceful takeover of Greenland by the United States would spell the end of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) and that EU member states are obligated to assist Denmark in the event of a military aggression.
Kobelius clarified at a security conference in Sweden, "I agree with the Danish Prime Minister that this would spell the end of NATO, and it would have very negative effects on people."
