Khaberni - The US Department of Commerce announced on Thursday that it has reached a trade agreement with the Taiwanese government, aimed at reducing the tariffs imposed by Donald Trump from 20% to 15%, similar to those on Japanese and European products.
In return, the agreement stipulates investments "of no less than $250 billion" in the United States by Taiwanese semiconductor companies (a type of electronic chip) to develop production there, in addition to another $250 billion "to enhance the semiconductor ecosystem and supply chain in the United States".
