Khaberni - The Egyptian Foreign Ministry said on Monday that Cairo continues its efforts in cooperation with regional and international partners to de-escalate tensions, and calls for seizing the latest initiative of the American President Donald Trump to favor dialogue.
The Ministry added in a statement, "Egypt is making diligent efforts and continues its intensive contacts and efforts with all relevant parties over the past few days; to prevent reaching a point of no return, and to stop the escalation in the region and avoid slipping into total chaos."
The American site Axios reported earlier on Monday that senior officials from Turkey, Egypt, and Pakistan had separate talks with the American envoy Steve Witkoff and the Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi.
Reporter Barak Ravid quoted an unnamed American source saying that the discussion revolved around ending the war, and resolving all outstanding issues.
