Amman Industry Discusses Enhancing Trade Exchange with Azerbaijan

Khaberni - The chairman of both the Jordan and Amman Industry Chambers, Engineer Fathi Jaghbeer, met the Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Jordan, Shahin Abdullayev, on Tuesday at the Chamber’s building, aiming to enhance the trade exchange between the two countries.
During the meeting, which was attended by the Vice-Chairman of the Jordan Industry Chamber, Mohammad Walid Al-Jeitan, and the General Director of the Amman Industry Chamber, Dr. Nael Al-Hussami, and from the Azerbaijani side, Ali Qadierov - the First Secretary at the Embassy of Azerbaijan and Najat Ismailov, the Third Secretary at the Embassy, Jaghbeer explained that Jordan is an attractive area for foreign investments through its strategic geographical location which serves as a gateway to the markets of Iraq, Syria, and the Gulf markets, in addition to the free trade agreements Jordan has signed, allowing many world markets to be open to Jordanian exports.
Jaghbeer welcomed the mutual economic delegation visits between the two countries, aiming to enhance economic relations between them, which are still very modest as Jordanian exports to Azerbaijan in the year 2024 did not exceed 3 million and 600 thousand dollars compared to imports which amounted to 477 thousand dollars, with most of Jordanian exports focusing on chemical products and pharmaceutical preparations, while the main imports from Azerbaijan were cocoa and its preparations and fruits.
Jaghbeer explained that the distinguished relations that unite the leaderships of the two countries should positively reflect on increasing trade exchange between them by working to solve the obstacles that hinder enhancing these relations, launching a direct flight line between them, as well as exchanging information about the most important products in the countries and the investment opportunities in them, and also the dates of exhibitions and events held in them.
On his part, Ambassador Abdullayev explained that he hopes that the economic relations between the two countries will see significant development through the exchange of visits of economic delegations, pointing out that establishing a joint Jordanian-Azerbaijani business council will be an important factor in coordinating efforts in the Jordanian business community and its Azerbaijani counterpart, and pushing towards more effective and sustainable economic relations.
