Khaberni - Haitham Juainat, the chairman of the Madaba Greater Municipality Committee, said that the large amounts of rainfall that the Madaba Governorate has experienced during the current weather depression have exceeded the infrastructure's capacity, despite the readiness and safety of culverts and rainwater drainage areas, which are continually monitored by the municipal staff.
Juainat added that the emergency teams are currently dealing with rising water levels in some areas, especially in Al-Azaydeh neighborhood and Wadi Al-Habees, which have seen a notable rise in water levels. He mentioned that previously, the watercourse channels were opened and deepened, in addition to opening box culverts.
He also pointed out that the emergency teams and field workers are monitoring feedback promptly.
