Khaberni - Mohannad Al-Khatib, the spokesman for the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, said on Monday that the number of beneficiaries from the University Student Support Fund will rise from about 56,000 students to nearly 60,000, in light of the increased allocations for the fund.
Al-Khatib confirmed in press statements that this step reflects the royal directives of His Majesty King Abdullah II emphasizing the necessity of investing in the future of youth, as they are the fundamental pillar for nation-building.
He added that His Majesty the King always ensures that economic conditions, whether of the family or the student, should not prevent students from completing their university education, especially outstanding students, stressing that supporting education is a direct investment in human capital.
The Prime Minister announced on Monday that His Majesty the King directed the government to increase the allocations for the University Student Support Fund by five million dinars, making the total allocations for the fund this year 40 million dinars, which will allow thousands of students to benefit from the additional grants offered by the fund.
The University Student Support Fund is one of the government support tools aimed at enabling students to continue their university education, and the expansion of its allocations is in line with the royal directives aiming to enhance educational justice and equal opportunities, and affirming that education is a fundamental pillar in human development and investing in the future of youth.
