Khaberni - A specialized medical team in the general surgery department, headed by Colonel Dr. Ahmad Mohammad Obeidat, performed a surgical operation to remove a cancerous tumor (sarcoma) from the abdominal cavity of a 55-year-old patient, where the tumor weighed 22 kg, at the Prince Rashid bin Al Hassan Military Hospital in Irbid Governorate.
Dr. Obeidat said that the patient had been suffering from kidney function disorders, high blood pressure, difficulty in breathing and moving, in addition to sleep disorders, adding that this rare type of tumor poses a significant challenge due to its large size and its attachment to major vital organs in the body. He also mentioned that the patient was discharged from the hospital in good health and is in the recovery phase.
The hospital's director, Brigadier Dr. Abdul Hamid Al-Adwan confirmed that performing such major operations in a peripheral hospital reflects the high level of readiness and development reached by medical services, which contributes to improving patient care and alleviating their suffering.
