Khaberni - reported "Times of Israel" newspaper that the Israeli army has prepared plans for an offensive operation in the Gaza Strip, planned to begin in March next year.
The newspaper transferred information from an Israeli official, unnamed, that the planned attack will be directed towards Gaza City, aiming to expand the area controlled by Israel within the sector beyond the current "Yellow Line".
Moreover, the newspaper reported from a diplomat from an unidentified Arab state that Israel would not be able to start this military operation without approval and support from the United States.
The diplomat added that Washington is still trying to maintain a fragile truce that was reached in Gaza in October 2025 and move to the second phase of a plan to settle the situation in the sector, which involves disarming the movement "Hamas".
The diplomat also pointed out that despite cooperating with Washington in maintaining the ceasefire, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu does not trust the success of the operation to disarm "Hamas", and has therefore instructed the military to prepare contingency plans.
It is worth mentioning that on October 9th, 2025, Israel and the "Hamas" movement, mediated by Egypt, Qatar, the United States, and Turkey, agreed to implement the first phase of the peace plan presented by President Donald Trump.
The following day, the ceasefire came into effect in the Gaza Strip, where the Israeli forces withdrew according to the agreement to what is called the "Yellow Line", while retaining control over more than 50% of the area of the sector.
The second phase of the deal involves the withdrawal of Israeli forces from the sector, the deployment of international forces to maintain stability, and the commencement of operating the management structures of the sector.
