Khaberni - The commander of "Syrian Democratic Forces" Mazloum Abdi, announced early Sunday that an understanding had been reached to cease fire and evacuate Kurdish fighters from Aleppo to northeastern Syria.
Mazloum Abdi said in a post on his "X" platform account: "Through mediation by international parties to stop attacks and violations against our people in Aleppo, we have reached an understanding that leads to a ceasefire and the secure evacuation of martyrs, the wounded, and civilians stuck, as well as fighters from Ashrafiyeh and Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhoods to northern and eastern Syria.".
Abdi called on the mediators to honor their commitments to stop the violations and work for a safe return of the displaced to their homes.
The city of Aleppo saw a notable field development early Sunday with the departure of the last groups of fighters from the "Syrian Democratic Forces" (SDF) from Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood north of the city, reflecting security understandings reached in the past hours after complex negotiation rounds.
Local media reported that buses began transporting "SDF" fighters towards areas east of the Euphrates River, amid intensive overflights of surveillance aircraft in the skies of Aleppo to secure the pullout and monitor the neighborhood's surroundings.
Media outlets indicated that the last batch of buses carrying "SDF" fighters left Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood, led by vehicles of the Red Crescent.
