Khaberni - A senior Iranian official said on Friday that the American attacks on Iran, coinciding with its calls for talks, are "unacceptable," adding that Tehran has not yet decided whether it will respond to the American proposal in light of the attacks on its industrial and nuclear infrastructure.
The official added that the Iranian response to the American proposals was expected to be presented today, Friday, or tomorrow, Saturday.
A well-informed source said that an Iranian response to the American peace proposal, which aims to end the ongoing war in the Middle East, is expected later on Friday.
The source mentioned that US President Donald Trump and senior White House officials had been informed through intermediaries that the Iranian response would most likely arrive today, Friday.
The war, which erupted when the United States and Israel attacked Iran on February 28, has spread across the Middle East.
Iran had been considering a 15-point proposal, sent via Pakistan, and sources and reports indicated that the proposal included demands ranging from dismantling Iran's nuclear program to limiting the development of its missiles and effectively handing over control of the Strait of Hormuz.
An Iranian official told Reuters on Thursday that senior officials had reviewed the proposal and found that it served only the interests of the United States and Israel. However, the official said that diplomatic efforts had not yet ended.
On Thursday, Trump said that Iran is very eager to reach a deal to end the fighting that has been ongoing for nearly four weeks, which contradicted statements by Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi who said that his country was considering a US proposal for a ceasefire but had no intention of holding talks to end the conflict.
Araghchi added that Tehran and Washington had exchanged various messages through intermediaries, but there was no dialogue or negotiation with the United States.
In an interview with official television on Wednesday, Araghchi said, "The messages are conveyed by our friendly countries and our response to them is to clarify our positions or issue the necessary warnings, this is not called negotiation or dialogue... It is just an exchange of messages through our friends."
Trump, in remarks made later on Wednesday during an event in Washington, said that Iranian leaders "are negotiating, by the way, and they very much want to make a deal, but they are afraid to admit it out of fear that their own people might kill them, as well as fear of us killing them."
Trump did not specify with whom in Iran the United States was negotiating, where several senior officials were killed among thousands of others who have died across the Middle East since the United States and Israel attacked Iran on February 28, and Iran launched attacks against Israel and American bases and Gulf countries.
An Israeli raid killed the supreme Iranian leader Ali Khamenei on the first day of the war, and he was replaced by his son Mojtaba, who was wounded in the raids and has not appeared in any photos or video clips since taking office.
